Please find below the compliance information for the TEA Silent Panic Alert technology as outlined in Chapter 61, Subchapter CC, 61.1031 of the Commissioner’s Rules, as set forth by TEA and amended.

TEA Silent Panic Alert Technology StandardRedBag Compliance
“An alert must be capable of being triggered by campus staff, including temporary or substitute staff, from an integrated or enabled device”Compliant: RedBag empowers anyone on a school campus to activate threat alerts in the classroom and across the entire school campus. Our technology does not require a pre-installed app or login credentials.
“An alert must be triggered automatically in the event a district employee makes a 9-1-1 call using the hardware or integrated telecommunications devices described in this subparagraph from any location within the school system”Compliant: The RedBag silent alert feature automatically triggers alerts and/or calls 911 and can be used by anyone on campus without a pre-
loaded app or login.
“with any alert generated, the location of where the alert originated shall be included”Compliant: RedBag is location based so origin location of the alert is available to 911 and school leadership along with building floor plan overlays for wayfinding.
“the alert notifies a set of designated school administrators as needed to provide confirmation of response, and if confirmed, notice is issued to law enforcement and emergency responder
agencies of an emergency situation requiring a law enforcement and/or emergency response, and a notice can simultaneously be issued to all school staff of the need to follow"
Compliant: The RedBag Silent alert feature can be configured to notify just a subset of school staff depending on the emergency (medical,
administration, etc.) while buttons like “I hear or see a threat” will trigger notification to all staff and emergency responder agencies.
“for any exterior doors that features electronic locking mechanisms that allow for remote locking, the alert system will trigger those doors to automatically lock and to automatically notify relevant campus staff of any door where the lock cannot engage”Compliant: RedBag silent alert can trigger third-party systems to activate remote locking access control systems, mass notification systems, PA systems, digital signage, and more using the
FEMA industry standard CAP (Common Alerting Protocol), RSS Feeds, Webhooks as well as direct integration via our RedBag Integration Module. These technologies and integration assistance are included with every RedBag deployment.
